Inscribed Sandstone Plaque

Geddy was a Labrador who loved to mess about in the stream at the bottom of his garden. When he died suddenly, his owners found our website and asked us to supply a Stone Plaque they could place in their garden, close to the stream in Hertfordshire where Geddy played.

The stone they chose for the memorial is a light, buff coloured Sandstone. The plaque tablet was cut from larger stone piece, and dimensionally sawn all-round to 45cm x 30cm x 5cm.

Engraving

We engraved the words and verse provided by the customer in small, finely engraved letters into the flat stone surface. We do this by precisely positioning template letters onto the stone surface so a sandblasting process can cut the elegant letters of the serif font.

The beautifully engraved letters used are in three font styles: bold to differentiate the dogs name; normal for the owners personal message, and italic for the memorial verse. The result is a memorial stone that is balanced and has a soft, gentle appearance that is pleasing to the eye.

Price guide

The guide price for a bespoke memorial such as Geddy's is approximately £180, plus packaging and delivery.

We do not usually charge per individual letter because once the templates are set up each additional letter adds only marginally to the creative input. Instead, we base quotes on the total input into a memorial.

Generally, we aim to make UK delivery weight under 30kg, so delivery costs remain reasonable. We pack stones carefully to prevent damage in transit. Geddy's stone arrived safely in Hertfordshire and now marks his favourite area by the stream in his garden.
