We can work to any design that you have or advise on what would be most suitable.Holocaust MemorialsRochdale County Council ordered 3 rustic shallow boulders with 1 sawn face to be situated in various memorial gardens in their borough. The characters were hand carved and painted black, with the logo finished in gold leaf. Each boulder was set in concrete to prevent it from being moved or pushed over.Business SignsThe company DBS of Huddersfield, West Yorks. required us to grind back and re-carve an existing sign in the grounds of their offices. The original wording was to be replaced with their new logo and painted in a particular colour. After an initial consultation it was agreed that it would be more convenient (cheaper, quicker and cleaner - less dust) to replace the panels. We matched the stone exactly and replaced the panels.Business Park SignsThe boulder for Shadsworth Business Park, Blackburn, Lancs. was made of extremely hard granite, and had already been purchased by the council. All the work was carried out on site. We carved in the sunken panel and prepared the boulder for the aluminium letters.Memorial Garden StonesWigan & Chorley Groundwork Trust approached us; they were designing a memorial garden for the community of Coppull. They ran a competition for the final design of the boulder, thus encouraging the community to get involved. We liaised with them as to how the boulder would best benefit from their ingenuous design. The boulder was erected by crane and set in concrete to prevent it from moving over time.Roadside Memorials (Road Peace Stone)We were approached by Lancashire County Council to provide a memorial for road crash victims. We advised them on the layout of the wording and the logo's. The boulder was handpicked by one of their representatives with the aid of our expertise. The boulder, located at Christchurch Gardens, off Bow Lane, Preston, Lancashire, was lifted into position with a large crane and set in concrete to prevent any movement. The memorial has been featured on Granada television as part of a promotion of road safety in the North West.Banks CottageThis boulder was designed for the gateway of a 16th Century cottage in West Sussex. The cottage is situated on the edge of a RSPB reserve. We were approached to landscape the garden and underpin the building. We liaised with English Heritage on all aspects of this project as the building was grade 1 listed. The landscaping was entered for an award by English heritage. Also see ornamental sculpture & carving.Coach House - Pub signCountryside pub in Rossendale, Lancs, wanted a rustic sign in keeping with the style of the building and its countryside location. |
